 TRANSNATIONAL VISITS FOR PROFESSIONAL EXCHANGE

 

SFWIn collaboration with AONTAS, Skills for Work and employers, a transnational study visit will be taking place in April 2017. Four SFW participants from various companies including Irish Rail, Geodis Ireland and the Hospitality Sector will undertake a three-day professional exchange with government agencies and local companies in Malta. This is an ideal opportunity for SFW participants to share their experiences of returning to education in the workplace and the many benefits gained in their work, community and personal lives. Skills for Work Co-ordinators from the Dublin and North West region, the SFW National Co-coordinator and members of AONTAS will also be attending, representing the ETBs and the Irish government.logo_irishrail

 

In 2013, AONTAS was nominated, by the Department of Education and Skills to become the National Coordinator for Ireland. A privileged and important responsibility, AONTAS is now coordinating the ‘Learning Today for a Better Tomorrow’ which will run from 2015 to 2017. Marian Lynch, Skills for Work sits on the Project Advisory Group which oversees the implementation of the Project.Aontas

 

European Agenda for Adult Learning (EAAL), defines the focus for European cooperation in adult education policies. The Agenda highlights the need to increase participation in adult learning of all kinds (formal, non-formal and informal learning) whether to acquire new work skills, for active citizenship, or for personal development and fulfilment.
