The pack provides resource material specially designed as an aid for tutors in supporting students to sit the SPSV test and can also be used to complement an integrated approached to workplace education.

In addition, City of Limerick VEC designed a “moodle” based on-line website specifically for the taxi industry which students can access as an additional resource at any time.

As part of National Adult Literacy Awareness Week, a new report by the ESRI on the impact of literacy difficulties in  the Irish workplace, was launched by Minister of State for Training and Skills, Ciaran Cannon TD.  The report highlighted how workers with reading, writing and numeracy problems are earning less than workers with higher educational skills. The report also found that employers are less likely to invest in training that addresses literacy and numeracy skills gaps and instead focus on skills gaps in management and foreign languages.
